Bunk beds are a superb way of saving space or conserving space in smaller homes. The can also add sleeping space to a room without having to sacrifice floor space. A bunk bed is effectively two beds—one supported on top of the other one—and fashioned after the bunks used on ships, trains and many other places where space is at a premium. The top bunk is reached via a set of podium style steps, rather than the usual ladder. The steps are strongly supported by a four drawer chest which is excellent for storing clothing or other items. The lower bed is a full size which will sleep one or two people. Underneath the full bed is a trundle which also opens to reveal yet another single bed sleeping space. This means that from one bunk bed you can sleep four people, which is great if your kid has a sleepover party or regular guests.
